Game Day / Anifilm

On 5th of May we had an opportunity to be part of Game Day taking place at Anifilm in Třeboň and show our game to people.

It was really great to meet all these people and see them smile while playing our game – even it was just a very first version of the first level. (oh, yes, we finally have something playable!)

But now I can’t wait to finish the whole game even more.

April 2018 – 4th Level

Time is running out.

There is still so much to do. We are finishing 4th level, getting ready for the last one! We have found a programmer and I believe the game is going to be actual game very soon.

There are another checkpoints to pass. First is to have something done for our school presentation which is on 30th of April! And another one is our presentation on Game Day taking place at Anifilm festival in Třeboň on 5th of May!

No sleep. Haha.

Info for programmers

First of all, important information about the game.
The uniqueness of our game is that it has several endings and 27 variations for the last level.

For instance:

In the final level your rocket can be: repaired (bright shining), demaged, or the same as at the beggining (old but not demaged).
You can also have brought good flower or bad flower or have no flower at all.
You can be dressed well, dressed wrong or wear no dress.
As you can see there will be lot of variations.
But the endings are going to be just like this:

You did great – your love wants you and takes you inside her house (this ending should be most satisfying…for player…in a funny way)

You did good but there are some things (maybe you didnt bring the flower but your rocket looks brand new, so you know, thats what the girls want) – you are accepted

You did bad – your love hit you with a broomstick till you go back to the rocket and leave. Then you play again.

 

And since you can choose levels as you want or skip some, there will be variations in other levels too.

For instance:
You can visit the 3rd level and your rocket can be repaired (bright shining), demaged, or the same as at the beggining (old but not demaged), because changes with your rocket should happen in 2nd level – so if you skip this level, your rocket will be the same. But if you go for this 2nd level, you can repair your rocket there, or make it even worse by accident.

 

ANIMATIONS
The idea is that we will make every possible action as an animation/video sequence.
So there will be plenty of video sequences which are going to change/play as player click on the right spot.

For instance:
You click on the rocket- animation of walk will play then it skips to animation of jumping into the rocket.
Video sequences should be “full screen” with alpha transparency, in layers.

IS IT EVEN POSSIBLE?

Trailer

Since we have made the trailer, and we are going to try to post it on english speaking sites, I’m switching to english.

So, yes, this is it!

And what about now? Now we are dealing with this no programmer situation.
But I’m sure that someone’s gonna like it and will help us.
The idea is to make it in Unity. And the thing is, it should be done in two months! So it can be ready for our final school presentation. Anyway we will be good just with animations and coding can be done later. But sooner is better for sure!

Leden 2018 – bude trailer

Neúprosným tempem pokračujeme v práci. Animujeme jako o život a tak je celý první level hotový (co do animací) a druhý je právě ve finiši!

Pohled do zákulisí oživování poloplastické loutky vám exkluzivně přináší naše televize!

Nicméně času ubývá a věci začínají býtí vážnější. Máme před sebou několik důležitých čekpointů a jedním z nich je samozřejmě trailer. Na ten se můžete těšit už v nejbližších dnech!

 

 

 

 

 

Kapitán Makk

Welcome to captain Makk’s blog!

Kapitán Makk is an upcoming stopmotion adventure game which tells a story about captain Makk who lives in unknown universe. It takes a really long time to deliver a mail there, so when he finally recieves the answer from his love that she wants him to come, he is old and his rocket as well. He has to repair the rocket and make right decisions on other planets , so the meeting will be successfull. Is captain going to make it? Will captain be accepted by his love? All it’s up to the player.

We use oldschool animation technique with “half-puppets”. All animated things are placed on a glass and shot vertically.

As two students of animation at Pilsen, Czech Republic, we like to use classic animation techniques, we like games and also there is a big chance we have good sense of humor.

Vítejte na blogu kapitána Makka!

Kapitán Makk je připravovaná stopmotion adventura, která bude vyprávět o kapitánovi Makkovi, žijícím v neznámém vesmíru, kde doručení pošty trvá poměrně dlouho. Když mu tedy přijde odpověď od jeho vysněné, aby ji navštívil, už je starý a jeho raketa rezavá. Musí tedy raketu dát znovu do provozu a na dalších planetách jednat tak, aby jeho rande stopro klaplo. Stihne kapitán za svou milou dorazit a nebude nakonec odmítnut? Vše bude záležet na hráčovi.

Hra je vytvářena klasickou animační technikou s tzv. poloplastickými loutkami. Loutky a předměty jsou umístěny na skle a snímány vertikálně. Stejná technika byla například použita u kultovního českého animáku Potkali se u Kolína.

My, dva študáci z ateliéru animace v Plzni, máme rádi klasické animační techniky, hry a pravděpodobně máme i smysl pro humor.
